Aristadoe has officially released the first trailer for the up and coming video Till Dawn. The video is due in mid spring, if you haven’t seen it is pretty much a tease, and leaves you wanting more. The footage contains raw images of pedestrians in New York City, overlooking the consequences of the nightlife. The joint has a moody vibe, and an interesting theme.

Aristadoe said, “The concept of the song has to do with me being in a situation that I have no control over… or at least it seems that way. I then use my surroundings to help me come up with answers. However, I end up contradicting myself by saying fu-k it.”

Ironically, the song is no more than two minutes long; why the effort for such a project?

He said, “I can’t really get into that, but trust me is for a reason. That’s why the video is due sometime in mid spring. In the end, I’ll be all worth it; you just gonna have to wait and see.”

SOMETIMES YOU DO, AND SOMETIMES YOU DON’T:

At first, I didn’t think this (Sometimes) video would get shot, due to the pouring rain. It was like some pound for pound hardcore rain drops crashing in. Looking up at the sky, and blaming it for crying on my plans as I was exiting Jimmy’s Chinese Restaurant on the corner of 181 street and Bennett. Waiting outside for Brace to pick me up… or better yet waiting to hear the horn from his whip; which I did. By the time we went to his crib, the rain had slack down to the point where I couldn’t hear no water tapping from the windows of his crib. So it was on…he called up his cousin M.Class to help us shoot the video.

We all drove to several spots… uptown in Washington Heights looking for old memory lane backdrops. I’m not gonna front, I didn’t have the concept laid down to the tea, but I did have an idea on what I wanted to do for his video like 4 weeks prior to the shoot. I knew I wanted to have scenes of Brace driving his whip while thinking to himself, and scenes of him standing in front of some dirty secluded under path backdrop. I had some in mind, but didn’t know the exact locations, till he brought me to this ill spot by one fifty some shit. It was a dream come true, so we started shooting.

Sometimes I shot the scenes, and sometimes I didn’t. When I wasn’t filming M.Class took over, I must say he got some steady ass hands; especially dealing with a lens so light which can cause the camera to shake easy. If he was a transformer he would earn the name (Tripod). We caught mad wreck, but we did come across some toy cops trying to stop us at certain locations. But we manage to shoot guerrilla style because that’s what we do. Is part of the fun, the art of not getting caught, and sometimes the rush it brings, helps you bring out your best. Once you being filmed or filming the next man, you block everything and go in for the kill. When I felt I had enough footage I looked up at the sky and said, “Thanks for keeping the streets clean.” LOL

THE MAN FOR THE JOB:

Aristadoe has found the man for the job. Carlos Arturo Arias, aka Bens from New York City’s uptown Washington Heights district, will be working on Aristadoe’s Pride and Glory album cover. Carlos has a strong background in tattooing, graffiti and sculpture design. The artwork will consist of a sketch, which will later on be filled in color by another artist specialized in computer graphics. Ever since my last video project (Who’s Gonna Bite) I’ve been getting a lot of replies on youtube regarding on how I go about coming up with concepts for videos, and what motivates me to carry out such ideas? So to break it down – I basically take notes on my little note pad on what I feel I should translate into motion. But, It all starts with a vision; I scout the location and look for key areas that would serve its purpose. While all this is going on, I keep playing the song for the video in my head, while focusing on what scenes might go best depending on how I feel, and the vibe or vice versa.

Usually, I know the area inside out because as a kid growing up in New York City, I was always exploring; my eyes were always catching i’ll spots. However, if I’m not too familiar with the location I make sure I change that. The process can some times be effortless, and other times it can be a pain in the ass. Regardless, it’s a procedure that takes careful planing. Everything I do comes in a form of a thought; sometimes I can’t control it, but I assure you…I do it for a reason.

This picture was taken of Gleams accidentally while shooting for the (Who’s Gonna Bite) video in the drizzling rain. I was supposed to press the record button on my camera half way, but for some crazy reason I pressed it all the way down. I guess…my finger pointed me in the right direction. THE REBEL

We sometimes have unusual thoughts, that come across our minds from time to time. Ironically, some of us ignore them, and some don’t – and for a good reason. Which brings me to my next video project which will be shot for the track (the Rebel). I can’t disclose the exact location, but it will be filmed on solitary grounds in New York City, sometime in mid or late October. It will be shot on 3 separate days. I will be looking for some extra’s, if interested shoot me a post. I can’t give out too much info, but this project is not your typical hip-hop video, no pretty stuff here. Therefore, prepare for the unexpected. Further updates will be posted, the picture should indicate the purpose.

WHERE THERE’S AN APPLE, THERE’S A BITE:

On July 30th 2011 a spellbinding Hip-Hop video was filmed in New York City’s Washington Square Park, and the infamous West 4th basket ball court known as (The Cage). This indicative well crafted video was filmed for the joint (Who’s Gonna Bite) From the upcoming album titled Pride and Glory; which ft-Gleams, Amandy Exchange, and myself Aristadoe.

Three man took upon this approach with out a crew to depend on, but themselves by taking turns holding the camera, music equipment and of course the tripod came in handy. It was shot on two separate days, due to the weather conditions; the unpredictable Rain vs the scorching sun, added an interesting erratic contrast look to the video. Not to mention the free extra’s who participated with out even knowing. Interestingly enough, they casted themselves in groups of twos; which in a crazy way it seemed like they were mirroring each other… or was it just playing old biting?

Special thanks to Gleams, Amandy Exchange for their time, and participation. And the dancer Amanda, who carefully translated the words into motion. Can’t forget about the free extra’s, thanks for showing up.
